The End Of The World .... Part 2

Where did we leave off? Oh yeah. Allow me to stray a bit, but its imperative I put this down. I was having a chat with my friend Alice the other day about this end of the world thing and while on the story we started chatting about God and how he knows you before you are born and knows your life. So she asked "Did God know Eve would eat of the apple (yes she said apple) and give some to Adam?" I answered her by saying "Yes God knows us before we are born and knows what our lives are like but he hasn't planned them to say You will be this and You will be that. That's why he gave us free will. The power to make choices and it is those choices that determine the course of our lives."

Now back to our topic. We will revisit the above discussion as we go along. So the end of the world has been predicted and prophesied and maybe even planned but I refuse to panic and change the way I live just because of that. Take TB Joshua for instance, people have started following this man and quite frankly its scary because other people have actually become followers to the point where he looks like a savior or messiah of sorts. Do not crucify me for airing out my thoughts but I have heard of people who are now avid followers of this 'gifted' man. Yes some of the things he has said have come to pass but if I also made educated or lucky guesses on who will win a tournament won't I also become as popular as some famous octopus?

Sorry, back to the topic. If someone (a prophet) walked up to you and told you that you will die tomorrow, you will naturally be very cautious from that very moment. You will probably avoid cars for fear of dying in an accident or avoid going to a construction site for fear of bricks falling on your head. What I am trying to say is, people changed before the year 2000 because they were told the world is ending. Most people became careless with their lives because the world is ending anyway while others tried to find fixes for their fears and more importantly others became more prayerful to try secure that much coveted seat in heaven.

But the world didn't end. Maybe I was the only one that noticed but some of the people who had changed their ways were now confused. "What do I do now?" Guy tosses the bible, "Ah screw it! I am alive now let me catch up on what I missed out on." I am not judging anyone I am merely sharing certain things I noticed. Do not get me wrong. I have not said everyone that were prayerful were pretending. I said some.

Sadly I have seen a repeat of the same thing this year. We have people panicking but not saying much about the end of the world but you can see it in the actions or should I say reaction to this fear.

In my view, I feel the world will never end. God will not clear us all, I doubt that. Then in the eyes of science and laws of science, equations have to balance themselves out and man will find a way to survive, adapt or evolve.

I also think the world is not necessarily the big round globe that orbits the sun. I think it is the environment around you, the people around you, everything around your person. I don't think all the people that died before are in some large waiting room awaiting judgment day, waiting for all of us to drop dead and the earth to stop rotating and the universe grinding to a halt. I think when you die your world ends. I think you get judged there and then, the choice is made whether you ascend to heaven or get tossed to hell.

In the end, we all have Free will. God gave us life and he gave us the power to choose. It is the choices we make that determine our lives, wealth, health and death. That being said, i am not judging anyone or telling anyone what to do or think but these are just my thoughts. Based on this... I will enjoy the remainder of my life, who wants to join me?

  1. just like you, as is vivid from your writing, i am not as well vested with bible verses, but am certain somewhere in the bible Jesus promises to return for his people except no one knows when this will be. so definitely life as we know it on earth will come to an end.

i do agree with you though, it all comes down to the choices one makes, obvious depending on what one believes in or knows

  2. Thanks Clement. Yes the bible does mention that Jesus will return, but like every bible passage there is an interpretation to everything and i guess as i said its just my twisted way of thinking. Thank you for the insight.
